Position Summary:This EPI technician position involves operating MOCVD epitaxial growth and relevant semiconductor characterization in cleanroom environments. The technician is responsible for running MOCVD manufacturing and R&D runs, epitaxial characterization, and other activities assigned by supervision. The types of equipment that is supported includes but are not limited to MOCVD, XRD, PL, FTIR, ECV, and Metrology. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Perform MOCVD epitaxial growth runs for production and R&DPerform EPI characterization including PL, XRD, FTIR, ECV, and metrology toolsCommunicate with Engineers, Operators, Technicians, and Supervisors to stay current on priorities to maintaining production and R&D needsMonitor Emaint our E-tool which tracks equipment status and communicate with equipment maintenance team to minimize downtimeInterpret SPC charts, historical data, and other control charts in order to determine root cause of failureAbility to perform light lifting and carrying duties, and to sit and/or stand for an extended period of time (3-5 hrs.)Good verbal and written communication skillsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentThe Ideal Candidate:Enjoys working hard in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is detail-oriented.Exhibits strong problem-solving skills as related to equipment and manufacturing issues.Self-directed and able to work with limited supervision. Qualification and Experience:Minimum 8 years of experience with semiconductor epitaxial growth in MOCVD and characterization in a cleanroom environmentMinimum 2-year degree in electronics, microelectronics, material science, equivalent formal military training or similar science/technology degree.Proficiency in Microsoft, Oracle, and Google-based computer applications.Working Conditions:Duties are performed in a cleanroom environment which requires personnel to wear special garments.Cleanroom suits, hoods, shoe covers and gloves are used to maintain the cleanliness of the workspaceLocation:The Broadcom – Breinigsville, PA site is located in the Lehigh Valley near the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem and Reading. Additional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $27.60 - $39.42 per hour. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents.
