We build products to enable companies to connect with their clients via multiple channels (voice, video, social, etc…), and to provide context during these engagements, making these connections meaningful, fast, and memorable.   We do this via a SaaS (Software as a Service) product called Genesys-Cloud, which supports 1.3M users making over 1.25 BILLION API (application programming interfaces) calls daily, enabling around 2B minutes of phone calls monthly, and hosting 90B interactions yearly.    To support the growing demand in this space, we are expanding our presence and starting to build the core teams in Hungary.    As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for: Coordinate major development initiatives across the various development organizations of Genesys Cloud Consult with senior members of the various development organizations to assist and ensure appropriate design directions Be the foundation of the Hungarian Genesys Cloud Application Development unit Confidently make design decisions to deliver mission-critical platform features Ensure that the solutions are in alignment with the Genesys Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Working in a “no-ops” model where we own the full Software Delivery Lifecycle Stay current with industry developments and current trends Deliver with security in mind, ensuring our solutions are adhering PCI (Payment Card Industry) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and GDPR regulatory standards & requirements. Communicating regularly with colleagues and management to define and coordinate deliverables Wear the hat of a true product engineer and take part in the continuous discovery part of the product delivery alongside the continuous delivery.   You will work in a fast-paced, startup culture, where our environment is one of continuous change, innovation, and experimentation. You will work with established and cutting-edge technologies like Java, Python, Kafka, Redis, Golang, and various AWS (Amazon Web Services) Services to build on our micro-service Cloud architecture. You must demonstrate proficiency in one or more of these technologies and be an expert in distributed systems.    A Successful Staff Software Engineer will:  Operate in an autonomous fashion executing against the team’s feature pipeline. Work to keep Product Management aligned with technical changes and initiatives in R&D. Work closely and collaboratively with R&D leaders ensuring platform availability and scalability. Have deep experience AWS technologies in a CI/CD microservice environment. Have a strong understanding of the requirements of regulations, PCI, HIPAA, and HITRUST, among others. Maintain a sharp awareness of recent technologies and assess their usefulness to the platform. Demonstrate high levels of curiosity and keep up to date on emerging trends.   Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in computer science or related work experience with a minimum of 7 years industry experience Experience with software engineering in Java and/or TypeScript. Experience with REST-style web services and frameworks Solid understanding of key characteristics of a distributed system  Experience with messaging systems and proven integration patterns Experience with Linux operating environments Good verbal and written communication skills in English Experience operating, monitoring and debugging distributed software at scale Experience with CI/CD and the Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC) Experience with version control and dependency management systems (Git, Maven, Gradle, NPM)  Experience with the following is a plus:  Redis Spring Boot or similar tools in other languages Amazon Web Services (EC2, Lambda, Dynamo, S3, Kinesis, etc.) & Serverless concepts Jenkins Docker Local Stack / Mock concepts Angular, Ember.js, Knockout.js, React, Vue #LI-CE1 #LI-Onsite #LI-Remote Hungary #LI-Hybrid  If a Genesys employee referred you, please use the link they sent you to apply.About Genesys:Every year, Genesys orchestrates billions of remarkable customer experiences for organizations in more than 100 countries.
