Sr. Director of Engineering
The Sr. Director of Engineering is responsible for the management of the Prescreen Targeting Engineering Team, its priorities and the technologies and methods employed in service of building DoubleVerify’s software applications.
The Sr. Director of Engineering will apply their years of software engineering experience to the planning and execution of the product and engineering roadmap, in collaboration with the Product Management team. This is a leadership role that will require applying his/her vision and experience to making the right technology choices to service DoubleVerify’s business and inspiring and managing a team of engineering professionals to fulfill that vision.
Responsibilities include:
Create an environment and culture that drives innovation and challenges the team to explore and experiment with new ideas & technologies to grow the business.
Recruit, retain, and develop great engineers who form strong teams capable of learning and growing.
Lead engineering efforts to ensure scale, performance, and cost effective operation.
Collaborate with Product and Commercial Teams to understand business issues, plan the product roadmap and manage internal and external stakeholder expectations.
Define technology vision and strategy and create an operational roadmap for a multi-discipline engineering team
Partner with Product and Process Management to plan the engineering team’s near and long-term commitments, to ensure timely, accurate, and quality execution of all deliverables.
Collaborate with senior leadership in planning and implementing long-term changes to our technology stack.
Create a software development environment and process that encourages good design, security and lifecycle management.
Represent the company’s technology, products and culture in professional forums
Qualifications include:
10+ years experience in a senior engineering role building and supporting all parts of the software stack, including infrastructure management, database design, API design and front-end implementation.
7+ years experience building and maintaining API-driven, data-centric, non-trivial applications in Python, with emphasis on projects which involve Django, Celery or Flask.
3+ years of leading an engineering team.
Deep experience in database design and query optimization techniques in Postgres, or another major relational database.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV. The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between [$153,000- $303,000]. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits. The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description; however, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be more or less experienced than this job description as posted.
