We are working on one of the top priorities for Workday with strong customer demand.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced software developer with an interest in practical cryptography to join us in building the most secure services on premises and in Hybrid Cloud environments. You should have experience designing scalable, customer-centric systems and a passion for delivering secure software solutions. Along with senior leaders, principal engineers, and security specialists you will solve challenges of growing and operating a globally distributed cryptographic security service. This role’s charter is to develop, build, deploy, and support platform security specific solutions and infrastructure to help protect Workday customers data. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a production focused organization. You will be working in a rapidly moving environment where resilience and scalability are key non-functional requirements. This will require you to work effectively within your own team but also to coordinate with others in teams both locally and in other timezones. You will be:Building a massively scalable digital security system that is core to all Workday services.Owning the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, and leading implementation and testing of new features.About YouBasic Qualifications 5+ years software development experience in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Scala, C++.Knowledge in software design for distributed scalable systems.Good understanding of the internet protocols TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS etc.Good understanding of secure coding techniques and IT security principals in general.Proficiency in Linux (or other Unix variant) and container technologiesExcellent problem solving skills.Strong verbal and written skills to interact with global teams and customers.Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). Other Qualifications:Knowledge and experience with cryptographic technologies & procedures and data encryption.Knowledge and experience working with cryptographic systems such as Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) or key management systems such as Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).Experience with public cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure).Experience of full life-cycle software engineering practices including coding standards, testing, code reviews, source control management, and operations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a wide variety of audiences.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
