Director, SEC Reporting

The workplace options for this role include a remote model.  In this role, you will: Prepare and coordinate the SEC filings - 10-K, 10-Q, proxy statements, etc. (with Workiva) Manage and prepare financial statement footnotes for 10-K and 10-Q’s Assist with the preparation of Management’s Discussion & Analysis for 10-K and 10-Q’s Manage Financial and SEC reporting of equity-based transactions and related compensation accounting Research and analyze new/existing accounting and reporting pronouncements, utilizing authoritative guidance and determining external disclosure requirements Serve as a partner to the businesses to address key accounting questions for significant transactions Participate in M&A or other strategic initiatives from due diligence through closure, providing leadership and technical expertise on accounting, reporting, and control matters Manage coordination with external auditors (PwC), including the preparation of PBCs (prepared by client schedules), alignment of company positions/accounting disclosures,  responding to inquiries, and other issues Work effectively with internal and external teams, including revenue and general accounting, FP&A, legal, investor relations, internal audit (currently outsourced), and external audit Responsible for the establishment and effectiveness of applicable reporting procedure internal controls. SoundHound is building a SOX 404b control environment Assist with period-end close and financial statement review Perform other ad hoc activities when needed We would love to hear from you if: You have 12+ years of combined experience with a national accounting firm, public reporting company, or consulting/advisory firm with exposure to technical research and SEC/public company financial reporting  You have a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting You are obsessively detail-oriented and leave nothing to chance You have advanced analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills You have project management and organizational skills with the ability to independently and simultaneously manage overlapping projects You have a solid knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and requirements You have a strong ability to independently research and apply accounting/reporting principles You have prior experience with researching and documenting technical accounting issues You have NetSuite, Workiva, and XBRL tagging experience You have advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills You are driven to identify and help improve accounting processes, controls, and products You are comfortable working with teams prior to the establishment of mature processes We strive to be a values-driven company that is supportive of one another, open and honest, undaunted by challenges, nimble and focused, and determined to excel and win.
