About the Team
Since Opendoor first started operating in 2014, we’ve learned a lot about buying, managing, and selling real estate. The Enterprise business unit within Opendoor aims to share our learnings by offering our technology and processes to institutional single-family-home investment partners. Open Exchange is building a modern platform for transactions, offering a wide range of services such as brokerage and title.
Open Exchange is looking for motivated undergraduate students to join our Internship Program as Finance & Strategy (F&S) interns. As an Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to work alongside F&S Operations, Corporate Finance, and Accounting. This position will execute on various tasks and projects within F&S as well as aid in the quarterly close reporting. You will be entrusted to lead meaningful and interesting projects during your time at Open Exchange.
Internship Goals:
Gain an understanding of the Finance & Strategy team, operations, and Open Exchange’s key success measures.
By leading a project, you will gain hand-on experience working with the Finance & Strategy team and cross functional business partners.
Role Responsibilities:
Assist in the close process by providing variance analysis
Drive better business understanding through financial analysis
Support business decisions through cross-functional work to better understand key business drivers (e.g. City Operations, Accounting)
Build financial models to analyze/forecast company financials
Provide operations leadership with strategic thought partnership to create financial goals and evaluate major initiatives
Forecasting & Budgeting
Strategic Planning & Financial Reporting
Skills Needed:
Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills using financial information
Self-motivation, stellar work ethic, and a passion for solving complex business and operational problems
Strong Excel/Google Sheet user
Bonus Points if:
Knowledge of SQL, Python or other data analytics tools/languages
Knowledge of GAAP
Knowledge of NetSuite and Adaptive
Experience at a fast-paced, high-growth start-up
Location:
Remote roles in the US are available in all states EXCEPT Hawaii, Alaska, Montana, or any US Territories.
Compensation:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The pay range for most locations in the US is $15 - $33 hourly. In the SF Bay Area of California, Seattle, and New York City Metro area the base hourly range is $20 - $35 . Pay within the range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific hourly range for the job location during the hiring process.
