Joining Apple as an Embedded Software Developer on our SoC Productization team, you will craft and implement embedded software for Apple's products focused on Apple Silicon SoC bring up and test. In this role you will be directly responsible for Apple Silicon SoC quality in one or more product lines. Duties include bring up of SoC product test software on prototype devices, developing product specific drivers, and develop and own test plans to exercise all functional blocks for factory test. You will also be responsible for debugging and triage factory hardware failures and coordinate debug efforts with engineers across Apple’s hardware and software teams. Your contributions will directly impact Apple’s product quality and will be on the critical path for product delivery. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Passion for debugging complex problems Strong verbal and written communication skills Interested in embedded development C or C++ programming Scripting experience with one or more languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, Lua Understanding of OS principles Description Description - Develop and support software that will execute on every single shipping Apple product - Collaborate with system hardware design, factory test engineers, Apple Software, and operation teams to deploy factory screening software - Triage and debug factory failures, driving hardware and software improvements - Bring up system test software on new product prototypes - Close collaboration with IP test developers to deploy effective screens to the factory - Exposure to the full breadth of Apple Silicon SoC features and capabilities - Tune and characterize SoC stress test cases to operate in confines of product form factors Education & Experience Education & Experience Minimum requirement of a bachelors degree Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $55.81 and $84.08/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
