Inventory Control Team LeaderStatus: Non-Exempt (hourly)Position SummaryThe Inventory Control Team Leader will direct the workflow of the Inventory Control (IC) team to ensure that cycle counts, root cause analysis and audits are completed timely and with the highest quality standards. The IC Team Leader will also be responsible for providing supervisory oversight to team members across sites while also driving process improvements to departmental functions. As a high-volume technology manufacturer, Plug Power must remain vigilant to meet delivery commitments as well as maintain an effective flow of materials through the production cycle. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a demonstrated track record of managing inventory and materials functions within a high-volume production and/or distribution environment. This individual must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced materials environment while coaching their team to success.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesDisperse standard work assignments provided by the IC Administrator and/or Leadership to direct reports to support inventory control programs along with promoting 5S and safety objectivesWork closely with Inventory Control Administrator to ensure cycle count program process is followed to the highest level of quality and completion dailyWork with Leadership to establish goals for the team and work to continually improve metrics related to accuracy and program completenessSet a tone for work quality, accountability, and efficiency within the team; understand quality issues affecting processes and respond appropriately to decrease quality issuesCross-train team members in various receiving, put-away, and warehousing activities as well as inventory control functions to ensure all team members can effective conduct root cause analysisDevelop partnerships with production, planning, procurement, finance, and other internal team members; work to support mutual goals and add value to those functionsAlways adhere to safety standards, while enforcing safe work habits with all team members; this includes all OSHA regulations and facility safety guidelinesAssist in performance management activities including preparation of performance evaluations, recognition efforts for strong performing team members, and assistance with disciplinary matters as necessary by partnering with Manager and HRActive participant in yearly physical inventory support, including preparation, execution and wrap up Support daily maintenance of 5S in assigned areas.Audit for 5S in assigned areas and ensure periodically standards are recalibrated for future improvements to be madeDirectly facilitate and participate in ongoing process improvements through the use of techniques such as Kaizan, 5S and other lean toolsPerform other related duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceThree (3) or more years of relevant work experience within a warehouse/logistics/inventory control function; preferably as part of a warehouse environmentThree (3) or more years of relevant work experience in the implementation of 5S and facilitating tactical Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts.This individual must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced materials environment while coaching their team to successSupervisory experience with a successful track record of leading a teamStrong leadership skills including daily communications with the team and with internal customersExcellent understanding of inventory control methodology, material movements, storage techniques, pick processes, and use of systems and databases to manage materialsComputer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookStrong verbal and written communication skillsDynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levelsUncompromising dedication to qualityDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailExcellent follow-throughMust be driven and self-motivatedFlexibility to travel between sites as necessaryPay Rate:$22.12 - $31.68We offer a fantastic total rewards package at Plug, and a brief summary is below:✓Base salary is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
