Your potential is waiting; why are you?About the JobAs Corporate Counsel, Regulatory, you’ll play an important role in the development and growth of Genesys’ global regulatory compliance program. You will work closely with our product, engineering, development, and operations teams to help solve legal issues and enable the business to scale and grow. You’ll be advising the business on day-to-day issues that arise relating to highly regulated subject areas, including telecommunications compliance, data privacy, and other regulatory and compliance-related issues.  You’ll need to be proactive and engaged, able to work well cross-functionally both internally and externally, excited about technology, and ready to roll your sleeves up and dig into legal problems to reach a creative solution.The PositionThis role is based in the United States and may be fully remote.  The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Business and Legal Affairs.   ResponsibilitiesThe Corporate Counsel, Global Regulatory attorney is expected to provide strategic and legal advice to internal business partners, including working closely with our product and engineering teams to provide advice on legal issues during development of new products and features.  The successful candidate will also be able to provide day-to-day advice to assist the Company in managing and mitigating risks in the regulatory and compliance space, and will include the following responsibilities:Keep Genesys at the forefront of the evolving regulatory landscape by staying up to date on regulatory and industry changes and developments in the relevant sectors.Lead the global legal review of new products, product features, and other product-related matters to ensure compliance with local laws on a global basis and interact with regulators as necessary in coordination with the Genesys legal and compliance teams.Assist with revising and drafting updates to global contracts for both direct and partner agreements.Coordinate with regional counsel to perform multi-jurisdictional assessments to assist with regulatory and compliance efforts.Collaborate with product and legal stakeholders to develop creative solutions for novel, complex regulatory issues.Coordinate internal communication, projects, and training amongst different teams (legal, privacy, information security, product, finance, and regional teams).Assist in the review of and/or developing, updating, and maintaining of policies and procedures, customer-facing resources, contract addenda and templates relating to regulatory compliance, privacy and other matters.Provide support as needed to assist on other company initiatives (new technology implementation, internal policies, and data privacy and security efforts).Monitor regulatory trends across markets to determine trends and issues for the company to address.Job RequirementsPossess a law degree from an accredited law school and have passed a bar exam in any US State or Territory and be a member in good standing in any such State or Territory.Minimum of 8 years legal experience required and gained from a combination of private practice and in-house roles.Substantial experience with top rated law firm or major high technology company required.Experience in international business development, privacy and regulatory compliance matters, including ITAR, EAR, FCPA, DORA, FINMA, and trade compliance regulations.Proficient knowledge of legal issues specific to the high technology  industry.Demonstrated attention to detail, a good communicator, organized and possess excellent drafting skills.Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to navigate, complex legal and regulatory compliance issues.Must have positive, problem-solving, business focused attitude with good judgment prioritizing workload in fast paced environment, with and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects accurately, on schedule.Must be a team player also able to self-start and work independently.Ability to work on complex matters with minimal supervision.Track record of establishing strong working relationships with internal/external business clients and within the legal department.Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to collaboratively work cross functionally with internal teams including finance, sales operations, product management and sales.Understanding of Agile development, familiarity with Jira and Confluence.CCaaS, SaaS, Telco, IVR, or similar industry experience is helpful.The candidate must also demonstrate the following personal qualities:The ability to lead, inspire and manage Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
