The Position:We are looking for an International Tax Specialist who will be responsible for direct tax activities for Clarivate’s International entities (in particular Latin America, and Western Europe) including tax compliance, US GAAP and statutory\IFRS tax reporting, audits, correspondence with Tax Authorities, transfer pricing, withholding tax, repatriation and all other tax aspects as needed ensuring compliance based upon sound research, analysis and interpretation of tax laws and tax reporting guidance under IFRS and US GAAP. This person will have the opportunity to develop a new best in class UK tax organization to ensure long-term optimization of tax strategies in collaboration with the global tax group and business units. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments University DegreeRecognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)Minimum of 4 years of experience working in tax requiredBig 4 experience preferred with practical knowledge of preparing corporate tax returnsFluency in English and SpanishSolid Word, Excel, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and computer knowledgeIt would be great if you also had . . . Extremely detailed orientedAbility to research and propose resolutions on complex tax issuesStrong analytical skills set and solid experience with tax financial dataSuperior organizational and documentation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and an ability to foster a team oriented environment, working collaboratively with cross-functional departmentsAbility to work independently in a fast-paced environment.What will you be doing in this role? Responsible for the completion of tax returns in approx. 10 countries and work to include all related analysis, research memos and support.Responsible for the completion of the tax reporting matters for the quarter and annual reports including the preparation and oversight of the tax expense, deferred taxes, valuation allowances and contingency reserves.Serve as subject matter expert on tax research projects for International taxes ensuring that the tax filing positions are supported by sound research.Assist the wider Tax Group with identifying, researching and implementing tax savings strategies.Identify and prepare R&D tax credit opportunities and claims.Manage withholding tax position including ensuring the relevant treaty clearance requirements are in place.Manage cash repatriation from overseas subsidiaries back to the UKProvide support on the integration of acquisition and entity rationalization programProvide direction and management to outside advisors working on tax projects include M&A activity.Understanding compliance guidelines with US GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations.Implement, maintain and report SOX tax processes.Provide direction and support to outside advisors working on tax projects include M&A activity.Project coordination responsibilities including integration work following acquisitions made by the groupCoordination of the international tax filings to support Country by Country Reporting and transfer pricingUnderstanding compliance guidelines with US GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations.Implement, maintain and report SOX tax controls and processes over the international tax process.Ensure controls over Corporate Criminal Offence are maintained and where necessary enhancedInteract with financial accounting on a regular basis. Other duties as needed to fulfill tax responsibilities for the tax departmentAbout the team This role will report into the Senior Manager, Tax working as part of a wider team of 40 Tax professionals.Working hoursFull-time, permanent role on a hybrid basis 2 days' per week in either London or Barcelona office.At Clarivate, we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all persons with respect to hiring, compensation, promotion, training, and other terms, conditions, and privileges of employment.
