Job Requisition ID #23WD74003Position OverviewThe Simulation, Optimization and Systems (SOS) Group at Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and accomplished research intern for Summer 2024 or earlier. The ideal intern will help us conduct research and write code to develop a fast, accurate, and differentiable rigid-body contact simulation tool for applications in generative assembly design and system optimization.ResponsibilitiesConduct original research in the field of computational physics with emphasis on rigid-body contact simulationDevelop novel numerical techniques to model differentiable physicsImplement test-cases and prototypes to demonstrate research ideas and methodsUtilize open-source and in-house libraries to develop prototypes and integrate resultsDocument research findings in the form of academic publications or internal white papersShare technical expertise with Autodesk Research by conducting learning sessionsMinimum RequirementsPursuing a PhD degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or physicsDemonstrated proficiency in multi-variate calculus, linear algebra, and optimization techniquesExpertise in C++ programming with an understanding of the Eigen linear algebra libraryRecord of publications in top-tier conferences and journalsAbout the Canada Intern ProgramThe 2024 Canada program runs for 16 weeks (Jan 8th to April 26th for Winter Term and May 6th to August 23rd for Summer Term).
