Apple is seeking a self-driven, energetic individual to join the Failure Analysis Team in Bangalore. The team is responsible for non-destructive failure analysis for all Apple Hardware products and conducting and advanced material characterization for guiding design and process changes. You will also be responsible for performing hands-on root cause failure analysis and in-depth characterizations using advanced analytical tools. In addition, you will be recommending corrective actions and conveying results to the cross-functional team as well as upper management. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 5+ years of experience in materials characterization or failure analysis. Seeking someone with in-depth, hands-on understanding of Dual Beam FIB/SEM including experience with FIB preparation of TEM lamellae Familiarity with a variety of materials characterization techniques (SEM/ EDS, FTIR, CT/X-Ray, etc..) and fundamental failure analysis methodology Experience with battery failure analysis Hands-on experience in material characterization of ceramic, metal, polymer, composites, etc. Performing image analysis using softwares like VGStudio, Avizo, Amira, ImageJ, Matlab, or Dragonfly is a plus Creating comprehensive technical reports with streamlined and concise data for presenting to cross-functional teams Description Description - Experience using analytical tools for material analysis such as OM, CT, SEM, XRD, etc. - Experience with sample preparation and sample handling for material analysis - Knowledge of safe work practices in a lab environment with precision tools - Ability to work and manipulate sensitive and small objects under a microscope - Highly effective interpersonal skills including ability to seek out direction, communicating complex findings and accepting feedback - Strong interest in learning new techniques - Ability to communicate complex technical information in a simple, concise manner - Adaptability to fast changing environment and scope of work to meet business needs Education & Experience Education & Experience Undergraduate or Graduate (preferred) degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, Materials, Chemistry, Physics, Polymer Science or related discipline; or equivalent military eduction Additional Requirements Additional Requirements
