Data ScientistDescription -What a Data Scientist does at HP:work closely with your business partners to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision makingbuild algorithms and design experiments to merge, manage, interrogate and extract data to supply tailored reports to colleagues, customers or the wider organizationuse machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to problemstest data mining models to select the most appropriate ones for use on a projectmaintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report resultscreate clear reports that tell compelling stories about how customers or clients work with the businessassess the effectiveness of data sources and data-gathering techniques and improve data collection methodshorizon scan to stay up to date with the latest technology, techniques and methodsconduct research from which you'll develop prototypes and proof of conceptslook for opportunities to use insights/datasets/code/models across other functions in the organizationstay curious and enthusiastic about using algorithms to solve problems and enthuse others to see the benefit of your work.train, propagate and share knowledge with team memberscontribute to develop further organization’s data science strategyestablish new systems and processes and look for opportunities to improve the flow of dataevaluate new and emerging technologiesbuild and develop relationships with other key stake holders & departments.Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.Typically 10+ years of experience in a supply chain function.Experience in more than one supply chain function.Broker's license and/or 10+ years of experience in a customs/global trade function.Experience with Power BI.Experience with managing big data in supply chain.Sustainable impact is HP’s commitment to create positive, lasting change for the planet, its people, and our communities.
