About the Job:
Rent the Runway is looking for a Creative Director to join our dynamic marketing team. You are joining a new leadership team and working closely with the VP of brand marketing and creative to launch impactful campaigns that are anchored in editorial and storytelling to acquire a new customer, inspire and retain an existing customer, resulting in growth. You will partner closely with the VP of brand marketing and cross functional leadership team to create a unified brand experience to drive brand awareness. You understand that creativity is at the center of today’s successful brands and have been a part of a brand/agency that has pushed the boundaries to stand out. You are a big picture thinker who can conceptualize and manage the larger brand vision.
What You’ll Do:
Lead, direct and inspire a team of art directors, graphic designers, video editors, copywriters and outside agency support creating award winning work that comes from strong and effective internal partnerships and collaborations
Create Bold and brand exciting campaigns that celebrate the brand’s positioning and pillars. Deliver thoughtful creative solutions that differentiates and strengthens RTR market position and business results
Oversee the strategy and design of multiple touchpoints, such as brand campaigns, print and digital assets, video production, post-production, all website content, social media, email/SMS marketing, partnership support, media/ads and events
Manage and oversee in-house studio creating a highly functioning team that understands and executes the brand vision
Source and partner with creative agencies (when needed) to deliver world-class campaigns, media and content to elevate the brand
Drive your team to operational excellence to scale and create all assets that are needed to succeed in today’s marketing/brand landscape
Promote continual creative improvement and actively contributes to a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability
Create, ensure and delegate all the company’s visuals are consistent and on brand – developing brand style guides that are detailed, clear and speak to today’s consumer
Work closely with marketing team to secure all projects are delivered on-time and within the defined budget allocations
About You:
10+ years progressive creative vision and design experience on the brand or agency side
4+ years as a creative director with managerial experience
Beautiful and exceptional portfolio with demonstrated versatility across all media and channels
Exceptional creative chops, strategic thinker and proven leadership style
Passionate about fashion, luxury, beauty and environmental responsibility
360 campaign experience with a clear understanding of how each marketing channel creatively needs to be unlocked so RTR can break through, inspire and ‘wow’ new and existing customers
Understands the big picture and can see ideas through all parts of the execution, creating a team of best-in-class art directors and designers
A deep knowledge of the ‘new’ fashion, publishing and lifestyle verticals as it pertains to creative excellence, storytelling and how strong, meaningful creative can drive growth, loyalty and brand affinity
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an extremely disciplined and high attention to detail
Experience leading and managing a team of creative thinkers and doers
Comfort with being uncomfortable and willing to take creative risk

The anticipated base salary for this position is $176,000 to $220,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. This position is also eligible for equity compensation.
