The Global Business Personal Systems Product Marketing Team is responsible for driving the overall strategy across the Commercial product lifecycle and enable Markets to grow sales by aligning product positioning org-wide and developing incremental, product-specific content before, during and after announcement.Job descriptionThe role of a Messaging Strategist is to deliver simple yet compelling customer value propositions and positioning statements that bring our innovations to life while ensuring customers understand which features are offered on each family of our commercial products, what their experiences and benefits are, and how they solve customer pain points.The Messaging Strategist uses HP brand voice and tone, user personas, and internal value propositions, to develop external customer facing product source messaging including value propositions, key selling points, and features for HP Business Personal Systems PCs. They provide written copy for use on HP.com and channel partner websites as well as HP datasheets, digital, social, and email campaigns. They closely drive this process aligning and working effectively across business units from product development, GBU, markets, PR and sales to provide written copy for product narratives, training materials, and channel assets.They solve complex business issues and are regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.ResponsibilitiesOwns and drives messaging creation/process/workstreams to meet deadlines.Delivers against marketing communications strategies, policies, standards and direction.Develops insights-led new product introductions that directly tie into the business goals and objectives.Ensures close collaboration with product marketers, New Product Introduction team, Category/4P business and Market marketing partners.Defines, writes and tests customer facing value propositions, key selling points and features by product and ensure consistent execution across the mix.Champions and continually drives adoption of leading-edge innovative messaging writing and testing techniques across the business.Knowledge and SkillsExperience writing B2B/commercial messaging for end user and IT across SMB & EnterpriseProven track record in insights and data led planning that informs world source messaging and written copy.Superior project management skills with the ability to run multiple assignments simultaneously.Deep knowledge and experience of social marketing, content marketing and media.Process management accountability and problem solving.Ability to articulately present ideas, making persuasive arguments in presentations.Ability to think creatively while basing ideas in strategy and data.Ability to evaluate data and present findings clearly (proficient use of Word, Excel, Smartsheets, Power Point and Miro) and recommend actions based on that data.Impact/ScopeSupports the manager and drives the most prominent products within the business.
