The Equinix Digital Services Business Unit is looking for highly motivated engineers to take Equinix’s engagement in hybrid multi-cloud networking open source to the next level.  Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain software-defined networking applications using Go and other relevant programming languagesCollaborate with the team to design and implement distributed and containerized microservices in Go, generate APIs/SDKs, build user-experience tools such CLIs/Terraforms/UI/etc., and several custom observability pluginsEstimate tasks from the product backlog for sprint work. Coordinate with technical project managers and product management teams to define a scheduleAssist in the analysis & evaluation of modern technologies to meet the demand for product roadmap and technology platform goalsHelp in the evaluation and recommendation of appropriate technologies for product features and platformAdvocate and follow best design and development practices adhering to high engineering standardsPrioritize and parallelize daily tasks and ad-hoc requests under own supervisionTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to production software components, deployment configurations, and performance bottlenecksConduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to maintain code quality and improve overall development processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of networking software solutionsStay up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and standards to provide recommendations for improving network performance and reliabilityProvide on-call support, responding to and resolving critical incidents. Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement measures to prevent recurrenceContinuously evaluate and improve existing processes, tools, and systems to enhance productivity, efficiency, and reliabilityQualifications Basic Qualifications 5+ years experienceBachelor's in Computer Science or Computer EngineeringExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issuesStrong proficiency in Go or a great programmer who is willing to master it, with a proven record of accomplishment of developing and maintaining robust software applications and distributed/containerized micro-servicesStrong programming foundation with knowledge of data structures, networking, and transactionsEffective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentExperience building scalable and fault tolerant distributed systemsFamiliarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to producing high-quality softwareContinuous learning mindset and willingness to stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends Preferred Qualifications Experience in Software Defined Networking (SDN), Linux Networking, and general networking skillsExperience in observability (Metric, Logs, Traces) – Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, SplunkStrong Experience with gRPC APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) and GraphQLStrong experience with Front-end (UI/UX) development technologiesDevOps bias to deploy, build confidence through CICD and observability, and learn from failureDegree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:• San Francisco, CA / Bay Area: $128,000 to $211,000• California (Non-SF/Bay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $119,000 to $196,000• Colorado, Nevada, Rhode Island: $108,000 to $178,000Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.This position may be offered in other locations.
