The ideal candidate must have a strong general tax background including competent analytical and critical thinking capability. The position will report to the LATAM Senior Tax Manager.ResponsibilitiesPreparation of accurate indirect & income tax returns, withholding tax returns and tax payments for multiple subsidiaries in Colombia:Annual Corporate Income Tax ReturnAdditions and deductions made in the determination of the Corporate Tax P&LAssess the correct application of credits against Corporate Income Tax, reductions or exemptions that benefit the companiesAnalysis of the transactions carried out by the companies, verifying their respective income tax effects and indirect tax effectsReview of income accounts, to identify their tax treatment and possible existence of non-taxable or exempted incomeReview of expense accounts, to verify possible disallowed disbursements for tax purposesProvisional monthly payment rate to be applied to gross incomePreparation of statistical data on balance sheet and income statement, to be reported in the annual income tax returnReview of Company’s operations and corresponding withholdings, as well as compilation and analysis of the background information supporting the information to be submittedPreparation and reporting of the monthly value added tax returnPreparation and reporting of the monthly WHT returnReview of criteria applied by the Company in transactions subject to VAT and any other withholding tax applicableAnalysis of remittances to treaty countries to determine the possible effects on the withholding tax rates appliedPreparation and reporting of Federal and Municipal tax returnsPreparation and reportion of "Medios Magneticos"Responsible to maintain accurate fixed asset - Tax BookPreparation of accurate provision for income tax and deferred taxes in Colombia (under the application of IAS 12)Assist with quarterly and annual income tax accounting process Colombian entities under US GAAP and local GAAP for the management report and statutory report, including preparation of tax provision to return true-upPreparation and report of the quarterly and annual Tax Package (CIT Provision) and Payable TaxesAssist with quarter end close procedures, including the preparation of tax account reconciliations;Research local tax requirements for expanded geographic presence in LATAM, conduct various tax research projects and analyze the income tax/indirect tax implications of any new tax legislations with proper memorandums preparedWork closely with FP&A to review quarterly/annual forecast and prepare cash tax forecastAssist the tax controversy team with Colombian Tax Audits and discuss technical issues with tax auditors and negotiate audit settlementAssist with the transfer pricing team related TPA/TP study in Colombia, discuss technical issues and analyze the corresponding legislationWork closely with Procurement team to perform accurate import/export transactionsAssists in tax planning for on-going routine business activities to improve tax efficiency of the CompanyKnowledge of Peruvian Tax, Mexican Tax or Chilean Tax will be a plusQualifications8+ years plus working experience with BIG 4 and/or corporate tax department is preferredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferredCPA/Chartered Accountant/Equivalent certification preferredExtensive experience in indirect and income tax compliance and accountingTechnical strength and knowledge related to income tax accounting and income tax reportingSelf-starter with strong accounting, analytical, time management and project management skillsAbility to recognize, understand, and analyze complex issues with excellent communication and writing skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management in an organizationMust be well-organized, hands-on, detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a teamProficient computer skills including strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, PBCS) requiredProficiency in English & Spanish required.
