Change.org is searching for a Communications Specialist for Team Italy to grow our brand awareness through work with media and social media.  Every day, dozens of petitions are started on Change.org in Italy. Our Italian Communications Team is uniquely placed to offer media support to make campaigns more visible in the press and achieve impact. We are looking for a Communications Specialist to join our small but mighty team in Italy. A bit about Change.org: we’re the world's largest social change platform, with 100 million monthly users, 50,000+ campaigns launched on the site every month, and a 100% user-generated revenue model. Our users win campaigns for change once every hour. Just like Onde Rosa, an association of young women who managed to lower the tampon tax after years of campaigning, and are still fighting for the tax to be fully removed. And Erika, a caregiver student who managed to get her degree by changing the rules of her university in favor of students who both study and take care of their parents at the same time.   You will report to our Communications Manager.  Key Outcomes: Find stories and campaigns started on Change.org at the national or local level with strong media potential Use media to drive campaign impact, victory, and brand awareness; including pitching to press, building reporter lists, and offering media training to petition starters Find the best outlets, journalists, influencers and relevant decision-makers to address and target for each campaign Be on top of compelling issues and news stories to identify media opportunities and share impactful stories to create more brand awareness Produce content for social media and monitor and navigate the social media landscape to find the best tactics to engage audiences on those platforms. The most important skills and capabilities for the role are: Media skills, including experience working with and pitching to journalists, building press lists, and identifying the right outlets for a particular campaign/story.  Strong, fast writing skills that are adaptable for different audiences and platforms. You’ve got a strong sense of narrative, and you can turn out compelling copy at short notice. Having your finger on the pulse of what people across Italy are talking about online, in politics, and traditional media, and a good understanding of current social justice, economic, political and environmental issues. Deliver results:  You have a can-do, positive attitude, are self-motivated and keen to learn. You thrive working in a fast paced and data-informed news or tech environment, and are willing to take risks, fail, learn and adapt. Additional capabilities we’ll consider: Social media management skills are a plus Target experience: Excellent Italian (C2 if ISL)  Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in PR, media or Government relations  We’re looking for is someone who has most of the skills and capabilities, and can show how your experience demonstrates this.
