In the space of self-driving cars, NVIDIA provides the DRIVE AGX hardware platform which runs our DRIVE software.We are looking for a leader of our entire Mapping and Localization team in CN. An accurate map helps tremendously for reliable and safe autonomous driving. In this role, you will help build all the in-car modules needed to enable usage of maps in cars. This includes map serving, localization, lane planner, fusion with perception and map health modules. Your team will be working with navigation maps as well as crowd sourced maps built by NVIDIA. It is a very exciting role that is the provides a breadth of work and is central to our vision in AV.What you'll be doing:Build and run teams responsible for various areas of mapping and localization stack.Be a technology leader by providing the team guidance on approaches to be taken to solve the hardest of AV problems. Be a hands-on collaborator with the team.Hiring and mentoring strong leaders within the team.Work collaboratively with other AV leaders to build a strong AV product.Make sure our algorithms work well on large amounts of real and synthetic data, in a diverse range of environments and conditionsProductize all software for real-world deployment to consumer cars, follow automotive quality and safety standards (MISRA, ISO26262).What we need to see:BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.5+ years in AV industry and 15+ years of working experience.3+ years of experience leading multiple teamsExperience in computer vision, 3D geometry, mapping, localization or related technologies.Outstanding communication and teamwork skills, as this project requires both cross-team collaboration and work in a tightly-knit team.Meticulous craftsmanship of software in modern C++, using RAII and the best exception safe coding practices.Embedded programming work experience.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Significant industry experience in the AV area.Experience developing real-time Computer Vision systems.We believe that realizing self-driving cars will be a defining contribution of our generation (e.g. traffic accidents cause ~1.25 million deaths per year world-wide).
