From the very start, the Senior Perception Engineering manager will make an immediate impact on our efficiency by optimizing critical initiatives and effectively communicating objectives to internal perception development teams and collaborating departments. The ideal candidate should possess a consistent record of success in both business and engineering management. What you will be doing:As the Senior Perception Engineering Manager, you will engage in the following:Strategic Oversight: Lead and oversee strategic technical and business initiatives as an integral part of the leadership team.Decision-Making Support: Assist, decide, and communicate effectively with leaders in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.Communication: Document and communicate our progress, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring effective communication with programs, customers, and partners.Initiative and Project Management: Drive key initiatives and projects with focused management and technical support, serving as a subject-matter expert.Technical Design Contributions: Participate as an authority in technical design decisions, summarizing and communicating both short-term and long-term technical solutions to collaborators for product KPI improvement.Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in execution, driving horizontal projects to enhance technical and productivity aspects. Review and execute improvements to the organizational structure, addressing knowledge and skills gaps.Efficiency Enhancement: Improve current processes and optimize organizational procedures for increased efficiency and productivity. Streamline and facilitate inter-organizational communications.Team Building and Culture: Plan and execute joint team events such as all-hands meetings and focused strategic workshops to foster a cohesive team culture, idea proliferation, and the pursuit of engineering excellence.Relationship Development: Develop and build relationships with all employees to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations.Dependency Management: Identify critical dependencies and proactively collaborate with solution providers to unblock the team’s core development schedule and objectives, including sensors, data collections, and compute infrastructure.What we need to see:Seven or more years of experience in an engineering management role overseeing > 20 engineers.Bachelors degree or equivalent experience10+ years of overall experienceConsistent track record of successfully shipping autonomous driving software.Experience in coordinating and directing multiple teams and departments.Proven track record of planning and leading strategic initiatives.Experience in working with multi region world-wide teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsVersatile abilities and a strong commitment to efficient productivity.Ways to stand out from the crowdExperience in data analysis, root cause analysis, and Pareto for various perception modules and vehicle functionsConsulting experience, with a focus on operations management.Nimble business mindset, focused on developing creative solutions.Strong project reporting skills, emphasizing interdepartmental communications.The base salary range is 268,000 USD - 460,000 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
