If you already have a Candidate Account, please Sign-In before you apply.Job Description:Senior Validation Engineer Senior firmware/software developer with strong EE skills responsible for validating PCI Express Switch ICs that have enhanced capabilities.  The primary activity is to develop tools and use them to find design defects in pre-tapeout emulation and in newly fabbed ICs. Responsibilities:This position is responsible for development of the firmware and software infrastructure to validate new PCI express products from Broadcom’s Data Center Solutions Group.This code and existing tools are then used to find design defects in new IC products by in pre-silicon emulation before tape out, as well as on new silicon.The firmware test code runs on an on-chip ARM processor.   It is intended to facilitate testing of the hardware logic interfaces.  Some host driver software must also be created or modified to work with the firmware code.  Close cooperation with a core group of validation staff is required to define, develop, and support validation activities.Reporting relationships:This position reports directly to the Systems Engineering director and also requires close coordination with the validation lead.Cross-functional relationships:In addition to close coordination with the validation team, the candidate will work closely with the hardware and software teams.    Skills, knowledge and experience required:Experience with ARM firmware development is required.  Experience in developing and testing drivers is requiredExpert level knowledge of PCI Express protocols is highly desirableCXLIO virtualizationDMAI2C, UART, MDIO, Ethernet, SGPIO, SPI flash bus protocols, GPIOEnterprise server chassis management and SES NVME Lab experience with prototype hardware and software debug is required.Experience in converting high level concepts into optimal plans that balance tactical and strategic goals.Experience in developing and meeting schedules for complex projects.Highly effective communication skillsDemonstrated history of effective coordination and cooperation with both team members and other groups.Proficiency with debug techniques to isolate and confirm root-cause for software, firmware, and hardware defects.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.8+ years related work experience.Additional Job Description:Compensation and BenefitsThe annual base salary range for this position is $106,800 - $178,000.This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, 401(K) participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company paid holidays, paid sick leave and vacation time.
