Director, Talent Management & Development

Algolia is looking for a Director, Talent Management & Development to help us maximize the potential of our talent across the globe. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader with experience leading learning, career development and performance management programs for a global organization. You will work closely with our People team, managers, and leaders across the company to design creative and high impact programs to support Algolia’s growth. The ideal candidate is able to translate data and inputs into innovative, simplistic, and scalable programs and practices to uplevel the experience for leaders and team members.  We are seeking a relationship-builder, who has experience in People consulting, solution design, development, and implementation for a wide variety of talent issues and challenges. YOUR ROLE WILL CONSIST OF: Lead the execution and enhancements of our talent management, development and feedback programs to support team member and leader growth. Programs include:  Biannual Feedback and Promo Cycles  New Hire Orientation & Programming  Learning & Development  Employee Voice  Career Development  Lead a team of two team members and align current programming focused on L&D and orientation to support business and talent objectives.  Optimizing existing talent development tools (Lattice and CultureAmp) and drive utilization for maximum impact. Helping pivot or developing new solutions if not having desired impact.  Using data, subject-matter expertise, tools, and technology to identify root-cause issues and develop recommendations and new approaches to talent processes, programs and/or initiatives. Developing a strong partnership and feedback loop with People Business Partners and the broader People  team to regularly gather input on business issues and challenges. Seeks to understand and anticipate what People Business Partners will need to deliver an amazing experience to the client. Maintaining a strong curiosity and awareness of People trends through internal and external benchmarking to help anticipate enablers that will further prepare Algolia’s People function for the future. YOU MIGHT BE A FIT IF YOU HAVE: Deep understanding of talent management best practices and ability to translate those to current organizational needs. Desire to understand global needs and tailor programs to meet needs across Algolia. An ability to quickly build rapport across a wide range of partners and are adept in change management best practices. Strong program implementation skills and ability to juggle multiple initiatives concurrently. An ability to remain focused under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability to adapt with a scaling business. Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into recommendations and implementation plans that will meet business objectives. A curiosity and desire to develop new and innovative ways of tackling People programs and practices. You are a problem solver.  10+ years of program management, consulting, business partnering, OD/talent management experience, or the equivalent and at least 5+ years of people management experience Preference for candidates with experience at our current stage and beyond (over 10,000 customers, $50-300M ARR range, high growth, lots of change and building internal infrastructure).
