The Automotive Vehicles team is searching for a creative and experienced Software Systems Engineer to help us bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle solution to market. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize ground-breaking solutions that will redefine the world of transportation and the growing field of self-driving cars. You will work with hardworking and dedicated multi-functional engineering development teams across various vehicle subsystems to integrate their work into our AV SW platform, while achieving or exceeding all relevant NVIDIA and automotive standards & guidelines. We have real-world product expectations, customers, and competition.What you will be doing:Develop comprehensive, stable, and traceable requirements to enable system function development with clear performance goals in mind.Drive market-centric autonomous vehicle system specification and verification activities, including architecture specification, design verification, test strategy development working with the System Integration & Verification Test Leads, and review and prioritization of test resultsLead and communicate data analysis to provide product and engineering teams with all of the critical information to know why a particular decision is or is not acceptableDevelop methods to analyze and compare the impact of ODDs on relevant performance metrics, translating data and analysis into impactful recommendationsPrototype & pilot new/improved processes to unblock product execution, and mature them to the point where they can be automated and/or delegatedWhat we need to see:BS or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of proven industry experience specifying and developing complex systemsExperience in systems engineering and/or robotics developmentStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive alignment between our product development, engineering, and test teams.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Experience with productionization of complex hardware and software systemsSuccess applying the systems V-Model to sophisticated engineering projects, ideally advanced driver assistance or autonomous vehicle systems and associated standards (e.g. ISO 26262)Deep technical background in at least one focus area of robotic systems development (e.g. perception, motion control)Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering methods and tools, especially with Magic Cyber Systems Engineer / CameoPrior experience taking products from development to production, especially vehicle systems
