Your potential is waiting; why are you?Location: For this position, we are considering candidates who are happy to work from our office in Galway City four days per week.Senior AV Design & Collaboration EngineerGenesys is looking to hire an enthusiastic, motivated & instrumental Senior AV designer and collaboration Engineer who will be delivering office build and refurbishments across the EMEA & APAC, with a focus on audio visual technologies such as Audio-Visual Broadcast, Collaboration Technology, Event Spaces, Meeting Rooms, Desk Booking, Desktop Technology, Digital Signage, Room Booking, Managing Internal All Hands events.This will cover multi-million-dollar projects with a direct impact on the job satisfaction and ways of working at our Genesys offices. Ensuring the correct technology is delivered to the highest standard will increase colleague productivity, drive office adoption and enable hybrid working.Part of the role will be site-based primarily located at our key site in Galway, providing first-class 2nd/3rd level support and troubleshooting for AV and videoconferencing with IT Services team.What will the role involve as our Senior AV Design and Collaboration Engineer involve:Attending design workshops to capture customer requirements.Drawing up provisional designs for office technology deployments to meet customer requirements.Compiling build of materials for deployments.Obtaining quotes from suppliers.Collaborate with clients and Project Managers to establish budgets, timelines, and expectations.Serve as the technical authority for design engineering on large-scale projects.Provide technical guidance and coordination for audio, video, and control solutions.Create functional system descriptions, block wiring diagrams, and rack elevations.Assist with technical documentation, variation orders, and system schematics using AutoCAD.Prepare cable schedules for procurement purposes.Mentor, supervise, and quality review IT services on the teamPerforming site surveys to ensure paper designs work in practice.Research and recommend technology options for clients and projects.Support projects during the build phase and produce as-built drawings.Stay updated on AV industry developments through trade publications and education.Arrange and manage installation of deployments and Delivery Project on time.On-site configuration of equipment to deliver end user content.On-site commissioning of complex audio and video systemsRemotely supporting & diagnosing failures and arranging repairs.Managing AV refreshes in EMEA & APAC sitesCollaborating with the clients internal teams (e.g. IT, Facilities, Events) to support their business activities from an AV perspective. This may include planning for events and providing support during events.Where needed, escalating technical problems to colleagues and manufacturer support teams, and diligently chasing up to resolution.Providing ad hoc end-user training so that systems are used correctly.Updating of system commissioning documentation such as AV/IT schedules, and accurate note recording of work carried out on site and via remote work.Collaborating with colleagues across the business, providing advice, information, and assistance on a range of AV matters, and following best practices as advised. This includes gathering and passing on relevant information to sales and service contract sales to maximise client accounts to their full potential.Managing Teams & Zoom admin console.Partnering/collaborating with counterpart in the US to have global alignment and standardsBusiness travel as required.What are we looking for in our Senior AV Design and Collaboration Engineer? You may have a variety of the below:Financial acumen – appreciation and tracking of all costs associated with a project and working with relevant parties to ensure projects are delivered within agreed budgets.Technical acumen – expert understanding in technical capabilities such as: Audio Visual Broadcast & Auditoriums, Collaboration Technology, Digital Signage, Peripheral VendingExperience in the following vendors and solutions:Polycom, Zoom, Evoko Liso, Evoko Home Server, Crestron, Microsoft Surface Hub & Microsoft Teams Rooms, Microsoft Teams Call Queues & Devices, Lenovo ThinkSmart Manager, Scala, VuWall VuScapexTo act in a professional and courteous manner to customers, suppliers, and colleaguesKnowledge, Experience, and Skills: Minimum of 5 years' experience in AV system design. Thorough understanding of project phases: Programme, Conceptualisation, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction, and Commissioning.Demonstrable knowledge of the construction process, installation, integration, architectural drawings, and specifications. Detail-oriented, independent, and self-motivated. Exceptional time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.Excellent communication skills.Ability to analyse complex issues and communicate concise, succinct messages.
