Summary Posted: Nov 27, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200522944 The AMR Payroll and Business Travel Compliance lead is part of a working team responsible for overseeing payroll and business travel compliance as it relates to employment tax, compliance for Business travelers, payroll audit activities and any other payroll compliance projects. This role will provide the due diligence and guidance as we rollout new countries, new tax jurisdictions and new locations within existing countries. The role will partner closely with our payroll operations, HR Employee Relations, HR Benefits and Legal so we are seeking an individual with a passion for researching labor and employment tax laws.
The ideal candidate will have experience working at one of Large Accounting Firm or Multinational supporting risk assurance with employment tax expertise, a desire to join a tech savvy environment, and a passion for streamlining and innovation as we continue to refine our payroll operations and controls. Responsible for all tax-related formal communications for BTC and overall management of the tax policy including international and domestic. Partners with the stock team on the BT related trailing calculations Reviews US shadow payroll calculations and UK STBV Appendix IV quarterly review and annual submission. Coordinates tax policy alignment between BTC and Talent Mobility Description Description The role of the Payroll and Business Travel Compliance lead is leading the compliance efforts related to ensuring compliance on benefit in kind reporting including routine review of benefit in kind taxation to audit the taxability treatment and reporting by payroll, manage payroll audits, document the global public holidays annually, and support employment tax requirements. Lead will also support the Business Travel Compliance program management with a strong mobility tax background due to the increased complexity for compliance with the hybrid workforce and remote working.
The consultant will support and provide technical guidance related to various employment tax compliance issues. Due to the dynamic tax law changes, the job would require a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements for payroll and analysis to ensure payroll compliance for Apple. The role will also be responsible for working with the payroll operations to review and update our operating business procedures and controls and the impact in our Sarbanes Oxley program. The consultant will need to understand and articulate employment tax compliance requirements to our business partners to configure into the payroll systems. The consultant will work with external advisors and our internal Legal partners on compliance questions and payroll legal issues.
Role is crucial in ensuring compliance for the region to help review and interpret payroll tax laws including providing thought leadership and strategic guidance on the impact to business partners (Corporate Tax, Compensation, Benefits, Accounting, Legal, Payroll, Retail etc). Education & Experience Education & Experience BA/BS in Tax, Accounting, Finance or equivalent, CPA/CPP or working towards certification Additional Requirements Additional Requirements - Payroll and mobility experience in a high-volume environment; - Knowledge of payroll and tax compliance; - Intermediate to advanced Excel Skills are preferable
