The Audio Products team, which developed the groundbreaking AirPods product line, is seeking an ambitious engineer with a strong background in machine learning (ML) to design, develop and ship audio products that will set the standard for the industry. This role will directly influence the next generation of audio products that will empower millions of customers to fully leverage and enjoy the Apple ecosystem. This person will be both a strong individual contributor who consistently delivers results on time, but also a strong collaborator who can build partnerships with a wide variety of functional groups within Apple. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications 3+ years (preferred) applying machine learning methods to products, features and/or services using libraries such as scikit-learn, R, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras. Strong background in not only machine learning but also signal processing (preferably audio) Excellent algorithm and data structure skills (time and space complexity analysis, optimization, etc) Expertise designing embedded firmware (C\C++) Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and modify large, existing code bases Passion for product ownership and track record of product development Proven ability to design and integrate code into a shipping product against aggressive timelines Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills Description Description Responsibilities will include: Contributing to the end-to-end development of an audio product or feature, from the initial concept stage to mass production, in any way possible; Leveraging your background in ML to specifically design, implement and deploy ML models and algorithms for the feature Working closely with firmware engineers to integrate the ML components, including development of necessary runtimes, trading off model complexity with system constraints, etc. Ensuring the quality of the ML components before and after shipping, including post-deployment monitoring, debugging and updating. Overall, this person will be joining a hands-on development team that champions creativity and teamwork to generate novel solutions to challenging engineering problems that provide a compelling user experience for our customers. As an Audio Products ML Engineer, this role will play a significant part in the development of products with all of these characteristics by engaging in very collaborative, rapidly changing environment to integrate new technologies into our designs. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $131,500 and $243,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
