The Apple News, Stocks, Weather team is looking for a Software Engineer, Data Engineering who has a passion for building scalable services to enable an outstanding user experience that delight millions of users every day. In this role, you will be responsible for building features and infrastructure for upcoming releases of the services. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience developing in Java Proficiency with large scale data processing technologies such as Hadoop and Spark Experience building data pipelines, micro-services, tools using Java, Python Experience building scalable backend services on platforms like Kafka, kubernetes using cloud providers like AWS Experience building stable and scalable server-side systems using distributed processing algorithms Experience building web frontend using Django/React is a great plus Proficiency with good data analytics skills is a great plus Ability to independently learn new technologies Excellent oral and written English communication and team collaboration skills Description Description Apple's News team is seeking a high-energy and self-driven Server Side Software Engineer who will play a central role in the delivery of scalable services. Responsibilities: - Design, develop and deploy systems and algorithms that process large data sets - Design and build stable and scalable production systems - Design and develop services using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, kubernetes, AWS, PostGres - Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to deliver scalable, robust, and high-performance systems Education & Experience Education & Experience BS in Computer Science or Equivalent Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $116,100 and $208,300 annualized, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
