Finance is a strategic partner to the business and plays an integrated role by providing insights that guide business decisions and support HP’s corporate goals.  The Supply Chain Finance Organization supports end to end supply chain activities (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Returns, Sustainability and additionally, underlying all of that, the Cost Accounting and Compliance) worldwide for HP Inc.DescriptionThis role will be supporting the Global Supply Chain Controller and is worldwide in scope.  The analysts will have deliverables associated with supply chains accounting area- typically across inventory accounts, other assets (rebates/AR/buy sell) and other liabilities (freight or other supply chain liabilities) and their corresponding P&L area.  This will involve overseeing the execution and metrics associated with Operational and Financial Key Controls in supply chain working with SC operations, finance, internal audit and corporate financial reporting.  It will also involve support of the Global Supply Chain Balance Sheet review quality reviews, and understanding the balance sheet and P&L for compliance, aged items, anomalies and understanding of business drivers. Applies an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.ResponsibilitiesProvides moderately complex financial analysis that is either transactional or analytical for a financial function or a business.Establishes and maintains relationships with business leaders to actively ensure financial analysis needs are met.Handles more complex business issues.Provides analytics to business initiatives.Develops a deeper understanding of HP's financial processes and a detailed knowledge of the business.Education and Experience RequiredFirst level university degree in commerce with a focus in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.Typically 2+ years of experience as an auditor, or in financial compliance, or having worked at the Big 4 audit firmsChartered accountant or chartered or CPA certification candidateMay have experience in more than one finance function.Knowledge and SkillsIntermediate level understanding of accounting processes and principles under US GAAPFluent EnglishUnderstanding of supply chain/ inventory is helpfulControls, Control Assertions or SOX404 knowledgeSAP S4 (helpful)Good analytical skillsGood business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Pivot Tables, Power BI, Visio).Good communication skillsGood teamwork skillsNice to have- Automation skills (Macros, Alteryx, Python), Yellow/Green belt (Process Improvement skillset)Impact/ScopeAbility to influence a particular supply chain process area, within a business, typically interacting with managers.Time zoneThis is a worldwide role supporting the Global Supply Chain Controller who is located in Houston, Texas.
