Finance is a strategic partner to the business and plays an integrated role by providing insights that guide business decisions and support HP’s corporate goals.  The Supply Chain Finance Organization supports end to end supply chain activities (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Returns, Sustainability and additionally, underlying all of that, the Cost Accounting and Compliance) worldwide for HP Inc.DescriptionThis role will be supporting the Global Supply Chain Controller and is worldwide in scope.  The analyst will own and manage the rhythm and calendar of Global Supply Chain deliverables associated with supply chain’s accounting and compliance activities- typically across inventory accounts, other assets (rebates/AR/buy sell) and other liabilities (freight or other supply chain liabilities).  This will involve validating and maintaining contacts, overseeing the execution and metrics associated with Operational and Financial Key Controls in supply chain working with SC operations, finance, internal audit and corporate financial reporting and providing training and guidance where applicable, to the SC Finance and Operations Teams.   The analyst will also be responsible to understand the end to end accounting across the supply chain, support SOX documentation maintenance and improvements.  They will also support the Global Supply Chain Balance Sheet review, more complex account deep dives, capturing actions and ensuring timely follow up aswell and monitoring and ensuring EY deliverables are responded to completely and on time (some tasks are owned by GSC Controllership, some are more monitoring of SC Finance and Operational owners)Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.Learn more about HP's global Management levels.ResponsibilitiesProvides complex, financial analysis for a financial function or a business.Establishes and maintains relationships with business leaders to guide and influence decision-making.Provides analytics to business initiatives, typically representing a sub-function within finance for a particular business.Supports policy and process improvement and identifies opportunities.Identifies issues and proposes solutions.Represents finance on cross- functional teams.Provides mentoring and guidance to analysts.Education and Experience RequiredFirst level university degree eg Commerce, with a focus in accounting and/or finance certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) preferred.Typically 4+ years of experience as a financial analyst with audit (eg at a Big 4 audit firm, and/or a mix of audit and industry accounting experience)Chartered accountant or chartered or CPA certificationTypically experienced in more than one finance function.Knowledge and SkillsStrong understanding of accounting processes and principles under US GAAPFluent EnglishUnderstanding of Supply Chain/Inventory is helpfulControls, Control Assertions and SOX404 knowledgeStrong analytical skills.Strong business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Pivot Tables, Power BI, Visio).Strong communication and influencing skills, comfortable speaking cross functionally eg (to non finance people)Excellent teamwork skillsGood business acumen.SAP S4 (helpful)Nice to have- Automation skills (Macros, Alteryx, Python), Yellow/Green belt (Process Improvement skillset)Impact/ScopeAbility to influence multiple functions, within a broad scope, typically interacting with managers and directors.Time zoneThis is a worldwide role supporting the Global Supply Chain Controller who is located in Houston Texas.
