Position SummaryThe Ethos Infrastructure and Reliability team is looking for a Software Engineer to work with our group.We deploy Adobe-wide software and infrastructure technology, promoting containerization, clusterization, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). We create tools, processes, and workflows that connect and empower thousands of internal development teams.As a member of the Ethos Infrastructure and Reliability team, you will work closely with other Engineers to design, develop, release, and support a container-based platform that powers the next generation of Adobe’s services. The components you develop will directly support thousands of independent services, handling millions of requests per minute. Ethos operates at a massive scale, everything must be designed with performance, security, and stability in mind.What you'll do? Work directly with an experienced team of engineers to learn about our systems and make meaningful contributionsWrite high-quality server-side code for scalable, secure, and performant applicationsDevelop infrastructure-level components that power Adobe’s compute environmentsUse and contribute to numerous open-source tools and projects like Kubernetes and DockerOperate in large-scale, cloud-based environments like AWS and AzureTroubleshoot production and systems issuesWork as part of a fast-paced, agile process with the freedom to work independentlyWhat do you need to succeed? Experience with Python, Java, or similar programming languageComputer science background with an understanding of algorithms and data structuresStrong understanding of web and networking fundamentals and some experience with LinuxBS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science or related technical fieldNice to haves:Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or AzureKnowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and/or microservice architecture and containersAwareness of security vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top 10) and secure coding practicesSome of the technologies we work with:Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization toolsPythonInfrastructure as a Service Provider: Amazon Web Services and Microsoft AzureLinuxGitAbout the Team:We’re building the platform to run Adobe's web, big data, and machine learning services.Our team of 70+ people work in smaller groups of 3-5 developers. This allows us to be agile while working as part of a larger organization.We're globally distributed but remain intimate. The group is in India, Romania, New York City, Lehi, and San Jose just to name a few.Our product and teams are growing quickly.
