Conducts programming and support activities, such as new or revised program language codes, processing routines and report generations including public cloud. Conducts programming tasks including program design, program coding, debugging and documentation to increase flexibility in deployments through automation.We are looking for an outstanding Software Development Engineer to join our Performance and Hardware Engineering team to manage the complex Performance Lab both in Private and Public cloud. Our growing team covers the entire Workday technology stack and has an exciting opportunity for people who enjoy taking a holistic view of complex cloud-based systems. Our team operates a large lab, conducts performance analysis to optimize the Workday stack. We also support a variety of performance tools and analytics for software developers around the company to ensure flexibility of the deployment stack of Workday. We develop our own tooling to support these activities in Bare Metal with minimal customizations for flexibility.About the RoleAs a Software Development Engineer in Performance and Hardware focussing on development and automation of deployment in private and public cloud, you will own the infrastructure for our services with a focus on availability, automation, performance and security. You will be responsible for keeping Workday cloud services and our own team's performance analytics services up and running smoothly. You will develop and automate programs and scripts, and set up CI/CD builds, graphs, dashboards, alerts, and logs, as well as manage, scale and optimize our products and services across both Bare Metal and Public Cloud (AWS, GCP). Technologies we use:AWS, GCP, Puppet, Ansible, Bash, Git, Go (Golang), Docker, Jenkins, MySQL, Ruby, Python, Chef, Java, Tomcat, ZooKeeper, TeamCity.About YouBasic Qualifications:5+ years of experience in deployment process for large scale applications with complex technology stack both in Private and Public Cloud (AWS, GCP)Responsible for implementing key strategies for cloud-based deployments at larger scale and expert in multi tasking across various environmentsExperience in reviewing and coding software for automation through Ansible, Python or Go and native tools of AWS and GCPAbility to innovate and bring in new technologies and implement the same in short span of time and support rolling outYou like to write, and have written, automation code using Chef, Puppet, or Ansible, other cloud native toolsYou have operated services in a production environment and created automation frameworks for complex deployment through orchestrationExperience in building pipeline automation for large scale deployments in maintaining multiple build versions of code through automation both in Private and Public cloudYou understand networks, protocols, servers, storage systems, operating systems, AWS, GCP You have good knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: Ruby, Python or GoYou understand and realize the value of CI/CD, builds, monitoring graphs, alerting, and centralized loggingBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceOther Qualifications:Experience in developing orchestration through Ansible for deployments and integrating the same for Public Clouds such as AWS and GCPExperience in using Puppet extensively for configuration managementExperience in developing automation frameworks through JenkinsExperience in analyzing tcpdumpExperience in troubleshooting network, firewall related issues by working with network engineering teamExperience in scrum practices like stand up and sprint planning using Jira.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
