DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Technology team in Europe to lead global technology programs, projects, and initiatives in our organization.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing programs in close partnership with Engineering leadership and individual contributors from our Technology team, as well as stakeholders from our Product and Science departments.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, which is the foundation of Aetion’s agile development process.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, business analysts, scientists, and other stakeholders, to ensure the successful delivery of technology solutions that meet or exceed business objectives.
This technical program manager role requires a dynamic individual with a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive the successful delivery of complex engineering programs and projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the planning and execution of complex technical programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
Leverage a deep understanding of engineering principles to guide decision-making and provide valuable insights to the team.
Partner with product managers, product owners, scientists, and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements aligned with program and project objectives.
Collaborate with engineering leadership to effectively allocate resources, including personnel and technology, to optimize outcomes.
Develop and execute project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and bandwidth allocation across team members, contractors, and vendors.
Work cross-functionally on a daily basis with our engineers and other stakeholders to monitor progress and facilitate conversations to sustain the team’s momentum.
Oversee the implementation of rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products or solutions, with a particular focus on test automation.
Communicate project status, milestones, and issues to various stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with expectations.
Identify and mitigate potential risks, proactively addressing challenges to keep projects on track.
Manage program and project task creation, updates, assignments, and overall progress tracking.
Facilitate program and / or project meetings, providing regular status updates and ensuring team members are aware of their responsibilities and deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
7+ years of experience successfully managing complex technology programs and projects from initiation to completion.
Extensive experience in software engineering, deployment, and integration.
Clear understanding of software development life cycles and cloud-based infrastructures.
Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding cross-functional teams towards program and project goals.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of making sound decisions under pressure.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical status and issues to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with program and project management tools such as JIRA, Asana, or Trello.
Experience with Agile methodologies and Scrum.
Preferred
Deep understanding of Site Reliability Engineering and Quality Engineering principles.
Detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work under time pressure and balance multiple competing / changing priorities.
Understanding of Product Management principles for SaaS.
Metric-driven approach to delivery and product performance.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices.
Experience gathering business requirements.
Client-facing experience
Project management or other relevant certification (e.g. PMP, Prince2).
Previous experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in a similar technical program management role.
Experience in managing relationships with external vendors and contractors.
