We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Artist with a strong background in real-time environments. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between art and technology, ensuring our projects maintain aesthetic excellence without compromising on performance.What you'll be doing:Real-Time Optimization & Performance: Ensure assets & scenes are created efficiently and are optimized for real-time performance. Evaluate and diagnose performance metrics to make necessary improvements.Shader Writing: Develop and maintain shaders across multiple platforms, ensuring visual quality and optimal performance.Material Creation: Apply the Substance suite and other tools to create, modify, and optimize materials for various projects.Scripting: Write and maintain scripts to automate workflows, improve processes, and support asset integration.Asset Management: Organize and manage a broad range of assets ensuring that they adhere to technical and quality standards.Procedural Content Workflows: Leverage Houdini or similar tools to create dynamic and adaptable content.Support & Collaboration: Provide hands-on technical support to internal and external artists and engineers. Collaborate closely with teams to ensure art assets are of the highest quality and are seamlessly integrated into the engine.Knowledge Sharing: Maintain documentation, including Confluence pages, detailing techniques, best practices, and processes for the benefit of the art team and broader studio.What we need to see:Bachelor degree (or equivalent experience) with 12+ years experience in a similar technical artist role.Deep knowledge of real-time optimization techniques and tools.Proficiency in shader writing, with experience in HLSL, GLSL, cg, or pssl.Strong scripting skills, especially in Python and C#, and familiarity with DCC applications.Experience with node-based visual scripting tools such as Unity or Unreal.Background in lower-level programming languages, e.g., C++ is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box.Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers.
