We design and build a suite of products to help implementers as well as customers configure Workday solutions (HCM, Financials, etc) and load customer data. Our products make Workday solutions easy to discover, deploy and love. As part of CDT product delivery teams, you will collaborate with many Workday teams and will help complete Workday's growth strategy to ultimately support our customers' business growth in a constantly evolving world.About the RoleAs a Software Development Engineer in CDT, you will be crafting and developing these products using various modern technologies and platforms. You will draw on the depth of your experience to guide and mentor our teams in day to day developer tasks, as well as guiding the strategic direction in the solutions we craft and build! Our teams are always targeting to improve their ways of working and development processes to increase our efficiency, security and quality of releases. We want to learn from your outstanding experiences and skills to contribute to the team’s success in delivering high value, high quality software to our customers!What you will do:Put our customers first by working closely with Product Management to ensure we deliver solutions that contribute to customers.Live the Workday core values daily.Design & develop high quality, secure enterprise solutions.Actively engage in code reviews and design discussions.Display innovative & analytical thinking.Follow agile methodologies to drive continuous delivery.Learning and sharing knowledge learnt with others.Collaborate with our teams and other teams across Workday.Coach and mentor engineers with less experience.Actively identify areas of improvement and propose solutions to benefit daily developer life.What we hope you have:A solid understanding of distributed system design and operation.Proficient at collaborating with teammates to design, maintain and improve sophisticated object-oriented and/or functional softwareAppreciation for the value of diverse ideas in coming up with innovative solutions.What you will learn:How to build and maintain distributed systems at an enterprise scale.Using Kanban methodologies to develop software.Software deployment across many different environments.About YouBasic QualificationsBachelors or higher degree in a computer related field or equivalentExperience in Software Development position with strong technical knowledge working with a JVM-based programming language (e.g. Java, Groovy, etc.)Strong knowledge of Web Services (SOAP and/or REST, client and server), XML and Integration technologies Other QualificationsFamiliarity with modern developer tools & practices.Excellent ability to communicate complex problems and solutions to a diverse group of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation.Experience with BDD/TDD and QA automation.Knowledge of architecture & design patterns, and how to implement them effectively.Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
