Trade Compliance Specialist

Summary Posted: Nov 10, 2023 Weekly Hours: 40 Role Number: 200518625 Apple is looking for a Trade Compliance Specialist to located in Shanghai, China to take on a role primarily to manage trade compliance escalations and broker-related issues. This person will assist in advising Apple’s business groups on the regulatory aspects of business initiatives and be responsible for assistance in ensuring Apple’s import / export activities are compliant with customs laws and regulations. There are also opportunities to support the team in the regional implementation of corporate customs and trade initiatives. This position requires working with the team to interface with multiple groups within Apple and government agencies to resolve issues and implement policies and procedures to ensure sustainable compliance in an effective and efficient manner. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Understanding of Greater China Customs and import/export laws and regulations; Knowledge of tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin and other customs technical area; Knowledge from regulatory and operational experience in relation to China Inspection and Quarantine; Experience / knowledge of processing trade, duty-free equipment supervision and bonded zone operations in relation to OEM’s operation in China is preferred. Proven ability to efficiently coordinate with customs and other local authorities and experts to successfully resolve queries; Skills to work with internal teams and external partners on problem resolving and escalation handling efficiently; Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English and Mandarin; Highly motivated with the drive to work as part of a team and independently to make effective decisions in a timely manner. Description Description - Efficiently resolve problems and handle escalations from internal teams and external partners on daily basis. - Support in OEM / manufacturing supplier management on the customs related escalations. - Work with Apple’s customs brokers for daily operations. - Work with other Apple function teams for internal projects on behalf of Trade Compliance, including supply chain diversification, tariff classification, FTA / country of origin, etc. - Support in Customs audit and other internal and external enquiry / investigation. Education & Experience Education & Experience Bachelor or Master degree in International Trade, Customs, Supply Chain or related field; 3-5 years of customs and trade compliance related work experience is preferred.
