We are looking for an engineering manager with a proven track-record in leading and driving hardware development in a cross-functional environment, with extensive system-level sensor design/development experience, and strong hands-on background in either analog/mixed-signal EE or experimental optics/physics fundamentals. Previous management experience preferred but not required. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Experience leading hardware development in a multi-functional setting, including resolving debate through data-driven tradeoff analysis Ability to take ownership of a user-facing feature, and break it down into HW-level specifications and deliverables, to drive team progress and decisions for key achievements Excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid collaboration and leadership skills – able to present to cross-functional and senior management audiences Strong technical background in either: Electrical engineering: Analog and mixed-signal system-level circuit design; hands-on experience with board-level circuit design; EE modeling experience (SPICE, COMSOL, Q3D, etc) a plus Experimental optics/physics: Optical system design and development; geometrical and illumination optics fundamentals; hands-on lab bench bring-up with optical sources/detectors and associated mechanical fixturing/electronics; optical modeling experience (LightTools, Zemax, etc) a plus Experience in MATLAB, Python, or similar numerical analysis/modeling/automation tools Sensor development and systems integration experience Ability to optimally mentor and develop talent to build a world-class team Description Description - Own and lead cross-functional development of an optical sensor system + feature. Collaborate across EE, optics, mechanical, process, FW, test, program management, system, operations, etc to lead the team to successful delivery of a sensor solution
- Lead system-level design, integration, characterization, and validation
- Failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving
- Incorporate sensor modeling/simulation to inform design implementations
- Present to executive management on key developments / issues
- Assume accountability for the reporting team, in terms of team deliverables as well as their growth and development

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,000 and $301,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
