Semantic communication and goal-oriented communication, a revolutionary architecture that integrates user as well as application requirements into data processing and transmission, is predicted to become a new core paradigm in 6G. We are looking for a skilled and motivated researcher to be part of our effort to design semantic communication systems and explore its transformative potential in developing Next Generation Wireless Systems. Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Proven understanding of wireless communication, wireless protocol interactions within the network, as well as interactions across different layers of a cellular system. Familiarity and/or experience with link-level simulation and modeling work in Matlab or NS-3. Deep understanding of one of the areas in AIML such as generative models, unsupervised learning, self-supervised learning or reinforcement learning. Programming experience with Python, and AIML libraries such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch or TF. Description Description Join a team of world-class researchers on wireless fundamentals and applied AIML on telecommunication systems focusing on beyond 5G and 6G Research. The candidate is expected to work on the emerging topic of semantic and goal-oriented communications design for 6G networks. The internship will focus on developing and/or showcasing novel communication design paradigms for 6G systems which simultaneously maximizes the perceptional quality of trasnmitted data, the effectiveness of the communication as well as network resource usage depending on the use-cases.
