Apple Services Engineering (ASE) builds and provides the systems and infrastructure that enable Apple's services at massive scale — such as iCloud, TV+, Music and App Store. We are the foundation on which Apple's software developers build the services our customers love.
The ASE Quality of Service team are looking for a passionate and talented engineer to help deliver Apple customers the best quality of service for Apple TV+, Apple Music, App Store, and more. Our services must scale globally, be highly available, performant, and simply "just work". Key Qualifications Key Qualifications Operating distributed systems and delivering internet services at scale- 4+ years experience. Experience with monitoring technologies such as Splunk, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, etc. Familiarity with containerisation, orchestration and deployment technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc. Programming via agile methodologies, in languages such as Bash, Golang, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc. Knowledge of core internet protocols/platforms such as CDN, DNS, HTTP, SSL, TCP, etc. Proven ability to self-start, learn, plan, prioritise and deliver to deadlines Demonstrated ability to create solutions which are maintainable, understandable and diagnosable Excellent verbal and written communication skills Description Description We are hiring an outstanding individual to join the ASE Quality of Service Operations team in Cork, Ireland. Our engineers develop tools, monitoring solutions and operational processes to help Apple deliver the highest quality of media services to our customers.
We are responsible for the software that drives real-time end-to-end quality of service and influences the performance of Apple’s vast service delivery architecture. We are looking for a standout colleague who is able to take on challenges under tight deadline constraints and deliver imaginative solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities
Build applications and real-time dashboards to monitor the quality of Apple Services
Design, implement and operate tools and processes to detect, react to and mitigate production issues affecting Apple Services
Execute incident command and coordination across ASE teams
Independently network to influence and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams
Create and deliver presentations across teams and to senior leadership
