The Packaging PD team is a diverse group of people responsible for the design and execution of structural packaging for all Apple products - from shippers to finished goods boxes. We collaborate with a wide range of teams including Industrial Design, Marketing, Environmental, Operations and many others during the design process.

- Utilize 2D and 3D CAD to design and document all parts and assemblies
- Ensure design meets performance requirements throughout its lifecycle by performing materials analysis, stress, and failure analyses
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including industrial design, hardware, environmental, operations, and technology groups to refine and execute on the design on the packaging
- Build models and prototypes to articulate design concepts, evaluate functionality, and validate packaging performance
- Partner with internal manufacturing teams and external vendors to optimize designs for function, cosmetics, and manufacturability
- Travel up to 20% to support engineering build activities including finding root cause for failures and solutions for issues that impede build progress Education & Experience Education & Experience BS degree with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Packaging Science, with at least 2 years of related industry experience Additional Requirements Additional Requirements Pay & Benefits Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
