As a Lead Business Systems Analyst of Finance Systems at Workiva, you'll take on a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the business architecture and processes for our Finance organization. Leveraging your expertise in core Finance applications, you'll partner with business teams, end-users, and their management to enhance processes, shape requirements, and drive the development of features that enhance efficiency and scalability. It's an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in tackling complex challenges and transforming them into practical, scalable, adaptable, and sustainable solutions.Your unique approach blends business engagement, a passion for technology and automation, meticulous attention to detail, critical thinking, and a dedicated commitment to crafting solutions that fuel business growth.What You’ll NeedCollaboration with Finance TeamCollaborate with our Finance team members, such as FPA and AR/Billing, to optimize our Finance stack through ongoing maintenance and new enhancements.Documentation and Process ImprovementDocument processes, procedures, and design related to finance processes and system architecture, providing a holistic perspective that aids in understanding functional impacts regarding configuration, process, workflow, and reporting.Proactively identify areas for improvement and keep us moving forward.Create and update system documentation, including configuration changes, data mapping requirements, functional designs, test cases, and enablement plans as needed for enhancements.Quality Assurance and TestingEnsure software quality and adherence to specifications and business requirements through unit-functional testing. Assist in troubleshooting to identify the root cause of defects in the system.Project Management and CollaborationCollaborate with management, Project Managers, and the Application Development team to scope work and produce estimates.Work closely with architects and other BSA resources to define and implement effective and efficient solutions to business challenges and opportunities.Independence and AdaptabilityThrive in a distributed and diverse environment, capable of working remotely and independently. You prioritize tasks and collaborate with others to ensure timely completion with an emphasis on quality and scalability.Adapt to changing business priorities and embrace lifelong learning while proactively developing new skills.System Configuration and SetupAssist with system configuration and user setup as needed, including setting up fields, workflows, roles/permissions, page layouts, custom objects, custom record types, reports, and dashboards.What You’ll NeedRequired Qualifications6+ years of experience as a BSA (Business Systems Analyst) in Finance Applications (such as NetSuite, Workday, Workiva, Coupa, Concur, Adaptive/Anaplan).Desired Skills and ExperiencePrior experience with Finance Transformation initiatives and ERP implementations.Experience in designing and supporting large-scale, technically complex solutions using Finance Systems technology portfolio applications.Previous experience in supporting public company Finance Systems.Proficiency in software testing, including building test plans and executing them in unit, functional, and user acceptance test cycles.Expertise in translating business requirements and processes into efficient, low-friction automation and high-impact systems.Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills for establishing and interpreting logic, data tables, and rule relationships.A passion for learning and applying new technologies.Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to drive and inspire change through collaborative efforts.
