Servicing Transfers at Valon
Every loan’s journey at Valon begins with a servicing transfer. The Servicing Transfers department owns operational processes related to onboarding and off-boarding loans from Valon’s platform. The goal is to ensure that we have the necessary data, documents, and funds to service the loan and that all relevant service providers and stakeholders are notified in a timely manner. In addition to Valon team members, we work closely with third-party partners to help support our line of work.
About the Role
As a Transfer Coordinator, you are responsible for onboarding and offboarding transfers, and executing on any related processes. You will work closely with the Servicing Transfer team’s Power Users to coordinate timely receipt of data, images, and responses from the prior servicer that enable Valon to board or de-board loans within required timeframes.
The right candidate is willing to learn the ins and outs of servicing transfers, gain an understanding of how and where to find information related to an on or offboarding batch, has strong communication and follow-up skills and has strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities
Liaise between Valon and external Transferor / Transferee servicers to project manage timely execution of servicing transfer-related activities, which are included but not limited to:
Delivery of data files
Delivery of document images
Weekly (both scheduling and leading) calls between transfer teams
Consolidate outbound questions for transferor servicers, and/or distribute inbound questions from a transferee servicers to the appropriate Valon department or team
Manage timely responses to outstanding questions from both internal and external owners
Execute internal processes related to batch coordination and set-up
Support Servicing Transfer team Power Users by gaining an understanding of common boarding files as well as where to independently find information for reports creation, or to field questions from downstream teams
Participate in onboarding data quality control and data validation exercises
Provide support for Servicing Transfers department audit requests
Minimum Qualifications
Intermediate understanding ( or willingness / desire to expand knowledge) of mortgage servicing concepts, including but not limited to:
mortgage loan documents,
data fields,
and terminology
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Data manipulation skills
