This position reports to the Senior Manager, Engineering. This position is remote eligible.
Role Overview:
The Software Engineer II is a pivotal role in our Content Automation team. You will not only contribute to the development of our Ruby on Rails-based backend components but also drive small to medium projects from conception to completion. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior team members, and actively participating in the design process.
You Will:
Drive the development of Ruby on Rails-based backend components and contribute to front-end development using React, Typescript, HTML, and CSS.
Enhance and maintain our CI/CD pipeline and leverage AWS technologies for optimum performance.
Engage in the entire development life cycle, from concept to release, bringing innovative ideas and solutions.
Take ownership of the quality of your work, ensuring high standards are maintained and security and compliance requirements are met.
Develop a deep understanding of customer use cases and apply this knowledge to your work, identifying opportunities for product enhancements.
Proactively learn about building features at scale, writing well-commented and readable code, and performing code reviews.
You Have:
A relevant tertiary education qualification and 2-5 years experience in software development.
Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong skills in Node.js, Typescript, React, and Ruby on Rails, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies.
A commitment to continuous improvement, both personally and within the team.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Initiative in leading projects and contributing to impactful work.
An interest in Machine Learning and Generative AI is advantageous.
