This person will partner with Illumina’s Product Management, Finance, and Commercial teams on all pricing decisions globally and be a subject matter expert on all matters related to pricing strategy, implementation, and data.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and implementation of pricing programs and policies related to list price setting and discount management globallyWork closely with the product management organizations to understand the product roadmap and define the future pricing strategy to target specific customer segmentsDevelop pricing analytics models to measure pricing performance and inform list price and discounting strategyDesign and lead qualitative and quantitative sales and customer research to test strategy hypothesis on pricing and discountingInnovate and implement commercial programs and promotions to capture value aligned to price strategyTrain cross-functional teams on pricing and discounting theory and best practicesCollaborate on regional activities to drive pricing and revenue opportunities and facilitate alignment of initiatives consistent with global goalsDevelop recommendations and influence senior executives to gain alignment on pricing and discounting recommendationsRequirementsBachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred. Strong ability to create, articulate, and present a persuasive recommendation regarding pricing proposals to key stakeholders within a highly cross-functional, matrixed organization7+ years of experience in pricing, finance, marketing, or commercial operations.Strong business acumen and analytical skills with ability to tie detailed analysis to overarching strategiesStrong initiative, problem-solving ability, and sense of ownership to develop the best solution amidst strong differences of stakeholders’ viewsAbility to translate pricing strategies to practical pricing conversations with regional leadersExceptional communication skills with a proven ability to influence at all levels across a matrixed organization, including Executive Level. Communicate complex ideas in simple to understand termsPassion for the role genomics will play in improving human healthWilling to travel based on business and training needs (up to 20%)The estimated base salary range for the Senior Manager, Pricing Strategy role based in the United States of America is: $136,100 - $204,100. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
