Audio Systems EngineerDescription -The Senior Audio Systems Engineer will be a part of the Audio Systems Team, which is responsible for audio quality and performance for Poly branded headsets, speakerphones, video systems and telephones, as well as HP-branded laptop PCs and All-In-On PCs.The successful candidate will work in a small team environment with electroacoustictest systems and audio toolsets.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Electrical Engineer/Audio Systems Engineer will be responsible for:Coordination across cross-functional teams including Program and Product Management, Industrial Design, DSP, Acoustic, Firmware, Mechanical, & Electrical EngineersIntegration of new audio technologies and acoustic solutions.Providing insight into audio architecture direction, including technology and component trends, in support of the overall product design.Testing and tuning of headsets, speakerphones and PC systems.Write audio specifications for audio-centric devices such as headsets, speakerphones and other telecom capable products.Creating schedules and planning as required.Work ExperienceThe successful candidate will have 6 or more years of relevant industry experience in the development of audio related features, telephony audio and/or wireless audio products. They must have demonstrated creativity in developing a broad range of innovative audio centric products or solutions.  Technical experience with overall design of audio-based systems or products is required. Experience with headsets/headphones, speakerphones, cellphone audio, or PC audio is a plus.A strong background in, and understanding of, acoustics, analog and digital audio system design, and DSP is required. Also, a good understanding of echo control, noise reduction, ANC and AI noise filtering is desired.Experience with voice/audio on Bluetooth and/or DECT systems is also desirable.QualificationsExtensive acoustic, analog and digital audio, and DSP experience.Practical knowledge of relevant modeling tools such as Matlab, or other tools such as Spice.Strong knowledge of laptop PC, cell or tablet audio                           and/orStrong knowledge of headset/headphone audioDesired SkillsDigital signal processing (DSP) development experience is a significant plusExperience with audio testing tools such as ACQUA,  Audio Precision and SoundCheck are highly desired.Familiarity with agile development tools like JIRA is desired.Experience in audio mixing for music is helpful.Experience with subjective evaluation of audio quality is very important. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is required. A master’s degree in relevant engineering is a plus.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $127,000 - $175,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
