The successful applicant will coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of all Data centre infrastructure according to Equinix global standards.The role will heavily involve creating and carrying out complicated switching procedures, both electrical & mechanical. We are looking for candidates with solid controls, electrical or mechanical background, but ideally with exposure across all fields. Applicants with a broad working background who collaborate with customers, vendors and colleagues will suit the role well.Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, engineering proficiency and dedication to consistently achieving personal and team goals will be highly regarded. Balancing and prioritising tasks and workloads whilst maintaining a calm demeanour will also be critical to your success.The role will involve flexible working based on a Monday-to-Friday pattern with late or weekend work depending on business needs.ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Team SupportResponsible for technical specialised repairs on mission-critical datacenter systems requiring sophisticated analytical problem-solving techniques to identify cause.Form part of management team assisting IBX Manager and Supervisor in ensuring team members carry out maintenance activities in line with Equinix Global Standards. Offering advice and guidance when required. ReportingReviews specialised contractual reports and activities. Site MaintenanceOversees the site maintenance and upkeep of IBX infrastructures according to Equinix global standards.Assess Adherence to PolicyEnsures all repairs performed on all IBX infrastructure are according to the manufacturer’s guidelines and best practices. Complexity & Problem SolvingAids in root cause analysis and in repair of specialised failed critical components.Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts existing approaches to resolve issues.Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select the right action.
